Screening of the film “Wat-Health: Water and health risks in Cambodia” on July 11 at IRD Montpellier, France
The film “Wat-Health” looks back at the eponymous multidisciplinary #research project through the eyes of those involved, highlighting some of the key interests and difficulties encountered. After the screening, four researchers involved in the project took part in a round-table discussion.
The aim of the “Wat-Health – Water and Health Risks in Cambodia” project (#FSPI2021-2022) was to determine how changes in river flood regimes affect the distribution of pollutants and lead to changes in the biodiversity of pathogens and vectors of water-related diseases, with ultimate effects on #health, agricultural production and the environment.
The project brought together 4 IRD UMRs (UMR G-eau, #LMI_DRISA_MIVEGEC, UMR Espace-Dev, and #IGE) and 3 partners in Cambodia (Institut Pasteur du Cambodge, Institut de Technologie du Cambodge and សាកលវិទ្យាល័យភូមិន្ទកសិកម្ម RUA – Royal University of Agriculture). The multi-disciplinary nature of this research required the coordination of a number of interlocking themes.
